Kpop News: BIGBANG Gets A Significant Award From Italian MTV Award

According to YG Entertainment, BIGBANG won the “Best Musician from the World” at the Italian MTV Awards 2016, becoming the only Korean act to earn a prize in the event in Florence, Italy, on Sunday.

The popular group was given recognition as the “Best Artist in The World.”

The ceremony was held on June 19 in Florence. The fellow winners of BIGBANG include not only Italian artists like Negramaro and The Kolors but also international stars including Avril Lavigne, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and One Direction.

BIGBANG leader G-Dragon shared a photograph on his Instagram account showing that they earned an award. The artist also sends his gratitude to the fans for all their support and the love.

Meanwhile, the group is set to release a movie entitled “BIGBANG10 THE MOVIE” at CGV theaters on June 30, in celebration of the group’s 10th year anniversary. The upcoming film will feature the band’s second world tour which occurred between April 2015 and March 2016.

Based on BIGBANG’s management agency YG Entertainment, the tour attracted about 1.5 million enthusiasts from over 13 countries, not only in Asia but as well as in the United States and Oceania.

The group made their debut on August 19, 2006. Mostly a hip hop group, their advent was a moderate success, with their first self-titled Korean album selling 48,000 copies.

They made their breakthrough with the release of their first EP, “Always” in 2007 which includes the hit song ‘Lies.” They also released their second EP “Hot Issue” in the same year which includes the single “Last Farewell.”

BIGBANG is made up of five members namely, G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung, and Seungri. They are labeled as the “Kings of K-Pop” because of their contributions to K-Pop. They are known for their songs, “Haru Haru,” “Bang Bang Bang,” “Tonight,” “Fantastic Baby,” “Blue,” “Loser,” “Monster” and “Let’s Not Fall in Love.”

Apart from BIGBANG, the members of the group have also made their individual pursuits. The five members have made their solo activities in the different fields of entertainment such as acting and variety.
